Several of you might find today's guest and topic a bit mysterious, since the story of Laura Albert and J.T LeRoy seems almost lost in history.
Show business is filled with aspirational characters who attempt to achieve fame and fortune by "faking it until they make it." But where does this wishful thinking end and a full on hoax begin? Today we’re going to be speaking with Marjorie Sturm, long time community advocate in the San Francisco Bay Area and documentary filmmaker about her film about the fascinating tale of J.T. LeRoy and the literary hoax that fooled not just that community, but all of showbusiness for almost 10 years.
